Very very helpful
I recently came out of the crossdressing closet to my wife. Peggy's book helped us both understand what I and others go through in dealing with CDing.

Not as good as her first book
This book will probably be most interesting to the practicing crossdresser who doesn't know any other crossdressers. Dr. Rudd's other book, "My Husband Wears My Clothes", is more practical as a general reference, or for non-crossdressers.

"Crossdressers: And Those Who Share Their Lives" covers the old material briefly and adds profiles of crossdressers the author has known. By far the most interesting part of the book was the story of how the author's husband became an acknowledged crossdresser & the effects it has had on his life. The book would have been much more interesting if there were more such stories, but alas, there was only one. The balance was made up of short profiles and pictures of other crossdressers the author has known.

The only other new material, the chapter about Crossdressing and Religion, felt muddled and was not particularly useful. It seems designed to deal with religious implications of cross-dressing from a biblical standpoint. It also seems geared towards offering absolution from biblical guilt. However, if you're feeling guilty about expressing your feminine self, you'll be better off leaving christianity out of the picture & reading the author's first book instead.

If reading about other crossdressers will make you feel better about yourself, then by all means, buy this book. Otherwise, a better choice would be "My Husband Wears My Clothes" by the same author. That book provides more in-depth information on the sport of crossdressing, and much more useful advice on how to deal with it.

In summary: Buy this book if you're a crossdresser who wants to feel like part of a club.
