Q. 1: Do home electrolysis kits, like those sold at the
drug store, provide permanent results?
These
electric tweezers kits (or those offering similar services) do not
provide permanent hair removal. This is a temporary method.

Q. 2: Does "no needle electrolysis" work well?
Whether
called "no needle electrolysis" or transdermal electrolysis,
no evidence supports its permanency. This is a temporary method.

Q. 3: Different "methods" are advertised under
"electrolysis" in yellow pages ads -- do these all work
well?
There are
three needle type electrolysis methods. These methods are
described in detail in our Treatment Methods section. Whatever method
you finally choose, it is important to realize that a probe, or needle,
must be inserted into the hair follicle (into the skin) and electrical
energy applied in order to kill the hair growing cells. Otherwise,
the method will not produce permanent results.

Q. 4: Does laser hair removal provide permanent results?
We feel
there is not sufficient evidence to determine permanency. However,
evidence suggests that finer, shallowly rooted hair may be able to be
successfully treated with certain laser methods. However, under the
circumstances as it applies to the thicker, deeply rooted hairs such as
those found in the beard, laser hair removal may be best characterized
as "long lasting" hair removal.
