Fine nonpigmented hair
covering most of the body, whereby the palms and soles are excluded.
verruca
A viral wart. A
flesh-colored growth characterized by circumscribed hypertrophy of the
papillae of the corium, with thickening of the malpighian, granular, and
keratin layers of the epidermis, caused by the human papilloma virus.
virilism
Masculinizition.
Possession of mature masculine somatic characteristics by a girl, woman,
or prepubescent male; may be present at birth or may appear later,
depending on its cause; may be relatively mild (e.g., hirsutism) or
severe and is commonly the result of gonadal or adrenocortical
dysfunction, or of androgenic therapy.
vitiligo
Partial or total loss of
skin pigmentation, often occurring in patches. The appearance on
otherwise normal skin of nonpigmented white patches of varied sizes,
often symmetrically distributed and usually bordered by hyperpigmented
areas; hair in the affected areas is usually, but not always, white.
