Dornase Alfa, Inhalation

This medicine is inhaled to improve lung function and to help prevent lung infections in people with cystic fibrosis.

Proper Use

You will use this medicine in a nebulizer. A nebulizer provides a precise amount of medicine as an aerosol mist that you breathe into your lungs. Be certain that you are using the right nebulizer and that you receive instructions for its use and maintenance. Read all instructions supplied with the equipment and the medicine. Use only one single-use amp each day.

Do not dilute this medicine or mix it with any other medicine.

Please Note

Store this medicine in the refrigerator at temperatures between 36 and 46 degrees F. Do not let it reach room temperature. Also, refrigerate it during transport.

Do not use this medicine if it has become cloudy or discolored. Throw out any part of an amp that is not used right away.

Do not dilute or mix any other medicines with this medicine in the nebulizer.

Females of childbearing age: Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding an infant.

Possible Side Effects

Serious (report these to your doctor): Hoarseness, rash, or chest pain that continues or gets worse.

Other: Abdominal pain, fever, flulike symptoms, cough, thicker sputum, wheezing, runny nose.

Tell your doctor if you have any side effects that continue or get worse.

Possible Drug Interactions

The treatment of cystic fibrosis can include many different types of medicines. There have been no specific drug interactions identified among the medicines commonly used for cystic fibrosis. However, be sure your doctor knows about all the medicines you are using or taking. This includes nonprescription medicines and medicines that are inhaled.

Be sure that you tell all doctors who treat you about all medicines you are taking, including nonprescription products.
